MWSS Holds Successfull 2009 Banquet
The 2009 MWSS Champion's Banquet was held on Jan. 16 at the Clocktower Resort in Rockford, IL. The Clocktower Resort boasts a full indoor waterpark and it was certainly a hit with the kids and parents alike.
Sixteen drivers took home a total of 22 Crystal Eagles signifying the winning of a WKA Divisional Championship. With all but one of the champion drivers on hand and a larger than expected overall crowd, the banquet was definitely a success. Class Champions were as follows: Mark Vielgut - Tag and Leopard Sr. - Double Winner Connor Lund - Briggs Medium and Briggs Heavy - Double Winner Tanner Long - Briggs Jr. Heavy and Briggs Jr. Lite - Double Winner Kyle Kalish - Yamaha Sportsman Heavy and Yamaha Sportsman Lite - Double Winner Jacob Zellner - Briggs Sportsman 1 Lite and Heavy - Double Winner Parker Williams - Briggs Sportsman 2 Lite and Heavy - Double Winner
Jason Foley - Yamaha Supercan Nick Stagl - HPV Jr. Heavy Olivia Beam - HPV Jr. Lite Ben Hewitt - Yamaha Jr. Heavy Jordan Laukaitis - Yamaha Jr. Lite Mike McAndrews - Yamaha Sportsman Heavy Joel Jens - Cadet Sportsman Tommy Andersen - HPV Lite Patrick Olsen - HPV Heavy Adam Crepin - Yamaha Pipe Special Award winners were: Mike McAndrews - Most Improved Jr. Driver Scott Kopp - Most Improved Sr. Driver Ethan Roskopf - Jr. Rookie of Year Brian McEvoy - Sr. Rookie of Year John Beam - Mechanic of Year Matt Stagl - Sportsmanship Award Patrick Olsen - Matt Hottmann Award The big winner on the evening for prizes had to be the Hobbs family who won the top 2 prizes, a Margay kart and a Kartlift kart stand. Special thanks to TJ Koyen and Tony Jump who presented the class awards and made it fun and interesting. Also big thank-you's go out to the following people who all helped plan and execute this year's banquet: Rick and Barb Jump, Lori and Joe Hewitt, Chris and Kaylee Koyen.
